Google Web Accelerator uses various strategies to make your web pages load faster, including:

• Sending your page requests through Google machines dedicated to handling Google Web Accelerator traffic.
• Storing copies of frequently looked at pages to make them quickly accessible.
• Downloading only the updates if a web page has changed slightly since you last viewed it.
• Prefetching certain pages onto your computer in advance.
• Managing your Internet connection to reduce delays.
• Compressing data before sending it to your computer.

方便大家的同時，Google 又再一步收集大家的上網習慣資料了。

update2: 經過二十四小時測試，加速效果並不十分顯著，所以決定移除。

update3:未經証實消息，由於Google web acceleator在用戶檢視某一網頁時會自動點擊不同連結來預先下載資料，因此有可能會點擊了一些不應點擊的連結（如刪除戶口）。
